Orange to be organically grown in Ham Yen district

On November 18th, a survey on the current status of organic agricultural production zone in Ham Yen district was jointly conducted by the delegation of Vietnam Organic Agriculture Association and Agricultural Development Denmark Asia (ADDA).

 


The the delegation of ADDA surveyed  an area of  organically  grown orange  in Tan Thanh commune of Ham Yen district.
 
The leaders from Tuyen Quang Department of Agriculture and Rural Development, PGS Tuyen Quang and the People's Committee of Ham Yen District participated in the survey.

Ham Yen district has the advantage of a large number of citrus trees, especially orange trees, which are grown on the area of more than 6,300 hectares, of which  870 hectares of grown oranges that meet the standards required by VietGAP  and 22. 6 hectares of  organically grown orange. The orange production is estimated at 74,200 tons.

Ham Yen orange has been granted the Geographical Indication Certificate by the Ministry of Science and Technology. It also is a 4-star OCOP product rated by  People's Committee of Tuyen Quang province.

The the delegation of ADDA surveyed  an area of  organically  grown orange  in Tan Thanh commune and another area in Tan Yen town of Ham Yen district. The survey's data analyzed and studied  by the delegation of ADDA showed the advantages  of Ham Yen orange production zone and the importance of organic agricultural production for expansion in the scale   of  orange  which will be organically  grown in the province.
